High-density polyethylene is a non-toxic, tasteless, odorless white particle, with a melting point of about 130 ℃ (processing temperature), and a density of 0.941 ~ 0.960. It has good heat resistance and cold resistance, and good chemical stability, but also has a high rigidity and toughness, and mechanical strength is good.
High-density polyethylene is chemically stable, insoluble in any organic solvent at room temperature, and resistant to acids, alkalis, and various salts.
Hardness, tensile strength and creep, abrasion resistance, toughness, and cold resistance are better than low-density polyethylene (high pressure).
Advantages: low cost, easy processing, chemical resistance, sufficient strength, stiffness, and impact resistance (including at low temperatures,) and low permeability to water vapor.
Disadvantages: cannot be sterilized at high temperatures.
