Chitosan Introduction:
Chitosan is a product of N-acetylation of chitin. Chitin, chitosan, and cellulose have a similar chemical structure. Cellulose is an hydroxyl group at the C2 position, and chitosan is replaced by an acetyl group and an amino group, respectively. Chitin and chitosan have many unique properties such as biodegradability, cell affinity and biological effects, especially chitosan containing free amino group, which is the only basic polysaccharide among natural polysaccharides.
Chitosan Usage :
Chitosan is the product of natural polysaccharide chitin which removes part of the acetyl group. It has various physiological functions such as biodegradability, biocompatibility, non-toxicity, bacteriostasis, lipid lowering and immune enhancement. Widely used in food additives, textile, agriculture, environmental protection, beauty and health care, cosmetics, antibacterial agents, artificial tissue materials, gene transduction carrier, tissue engineering carrier materials and many other fields and other daily chemical industry.
