Nylon 6, also known as PA6, polyamide 6, nylon 6, is a kind of polymer compounds. Polyamide 6 has the advantages of high mechanical strength, high softening point, good wear resistance, self lubrication, cushioning, sound deadening, excellent oil and chemical corrosion resistance, and good electrical insulation.
Nylon 12 is a nylon polymer with the formula [(CH2)11C(O)NH]n. It is made from ω-aminolauric acid or laurolactam monomers that each have 12 carbons, hence the name ‘Nylon 12’. It is one of several nylon polymers.
