Paint brush maintenance:
Oil paint brush Oil paint brush can prolong its service life if kept properly. The paintbrush should be cleaned in time after use to prevent the paint from drying on the bristles. When it is not used for a long time, it should be cleaned thoroughly and sealed with paper.
(1) If you don't use it for a short time, you can wipe off the remaining paint on the brush with cloth or paper, then wash it with turpentine and immerse it in water.
(2) Use turpentine to clean the used paintbrush. You can prepare two jars of turpentine (such as sauce bottles), one for preliminary cleaning to remove the remaining paint on the brush; the other for the second cleaning.
(3) Method of thorough cleaning
① After cleaning with turpentine, dip the pen in clean water or warm water and rub it on the soap (note: do not use boiling water, because boiling water will damage the metal hoop of the brush).
②Squeeze with your fingers or turn the brush in the palm of your hand.
③Repeat the above actions until the soap foam turns white.
④After rinsing with clean water, straighten the brush hair, wrap the pen with a slightly harder paper strip and store it for later use. When cleaning the brush, use moderate force, otherwise the brush hair will be easily damaged. The soap liquid used must be weak alkaline soap (there are special brush cleaning soaps abroad) to prevent the hardening of the brush bristles. Silk wool detergent can be used, paint thinner must not be used, it will make the brush hair brittle due to loss of oil. Oil paint brushes that are worn out are usually thrown away. If you heat the metal hoop on the flame and pull out the bristles a little without changing the shape of the bristles, you can prolong the service life of the brush. Put it in the curtain of the pencil roller.
