1. AOS surface activity AOS and other anionic surfactants (such AS LAS, AS, AES, etc.) also have excellent surface activity, in a certain concentration range, AOS can reduce the surface tension of water from 72mN.m-1 to 30-40mN.m-1.
2. Solubility of AOS Under the same conditions, the AOS of C12, C14, C16 and C18 were measured respectively, and the solubility decreased with the increase of carbon chain. However, it has good solubility in a wide range of carbon numbers (C12-C18). AOS with carbon number distribution of C14 and C16 are very soluble and can be used in liquid detergents.
3. Wetting force of AOS At room temperature 27℃, the surfactant was prepared into 0.1% deionized aqueous solution, and the wetting time of several surfactants was measured by immersion method. The order of wetting force from large to small is as follows: LAS>AOS14-16>AES≈K12>AOS14-18>MES
4. AOS foaming properties AOS, LAS, K12, AES and other anionic surfactants have better foaming power, in comparison, AOS14-16, AES foaming properties are good. The foaming power of AOS14-16, AOS14-18 and AES did not change much under both hard and soft water conditions. As LAS and K12 have poor resistance to hard water, the foaming power in hard water is significantly reduced. In the presence of sebum, AOS had slightly higher foaming power than AES and AS.
In addition, the foam of AOS can be suppressed with soap, etc.
5. AOS resistance to hard water
The surfactant solution was titrated with CaCl2 solution, and the turbidity of the solution was the final point of determination.
6. AOS calcium soap dispersion
Based on acid-titration and turbidimetry, the measurements were made at 40℃ and room temperature at 20℃ respectively.

8. Biodegradability of AOS
Among anionic surfactants, the biodegradability decreased in the order of AS>AOS>MES>AES>LAS>ABS.
The biodegradation rate and final biodegradation degree of AOS are significantly higher than that of LAS, which can be completely degraded and disappeared within 5-7 days in the natural environment without polluting the environment. LAS takes 20-22 days to degrade.
