High density polyethylene (HDPE) is an opaque white waxy material with a specific gravity of 0.941~0.960, lighter than water. It is soft and ductile, but slightly harder and elongated than LDPE. It is non-toxic and odorless.
Flammable, can continue to burn after leaving the fire, the upper end of the flame is yellow, the lower end is blue, the combustion will melt, there is liquid dripping, no black smoke, at the same time, issued when the smell of paraffin combustion.
Acid and alkali resistance, organic solvent resistance, excellent electrical insulation, low temperature, can still maintain a certain toughness. The surface hardness, tensile strength, rigidity and other mechanical strength are higher than LDPE, close to PP, tougher than PP, but the surface finish is not as good as PP.
Used for extruding packaging film, rope, woven bag, fishing net, water pipe; Low-grade daily necessities and shell injection molding, non-load-bearing components, plastic boxes, turnover boxes; Extrusion blow molding containers, hollow products, bottles.

There are countless applications for HDPE, ranging from reusable thin-walled beverage cups to 5-GSL cans that consume one-fifth of domestically produced HDPE. General melt index of injection grade is 5 ~ 10, and there are low fluidity grade with toughness and high fluidity grade with machinability. Uses include daily necessities and food thin-walled packaging; Tough, durable cans of food and paint; High resistance to environmental stress cracking applications such as small engine fuel tanks and 90-Gal waste tanks.
