304 is a versatile stainless steel widely used in the production of equipment and components that require good comprehensiveperformance (corrosion resistance and formability). In order to maintain the inherent corrosion resistance of stainless steel,steel must contain more than 18% chromium and more than 8% nickel. 304 stainless steel is a grade of stainless steel produced according to the American ASTM standard
304 steel is a versatile stainless steel material with stronger rust resistance than the 200 series stainless steel material. It
is also relatively good in terms of high temperature resistance, and generally has a temperature limit of less than 650 ℃. 304 steel has excellent rust resistance and good intergranular corrosion resistance. For oxidizing acids, it was found in experiments that 304 steel has strong corrosion resistance in nitric acid below boiling temperature with a concentration of ≤ 65%. It also has good corrosion resistance to alkali solution, most organic acids and Mineral acid.
