Helicobacter pylori (Hp) is one of the most common bacterial pathogens, and more than half of the world’s population has been infected with Helicobacter pylori. Hp infection is related to a variety of gastrointestinal diseases, such as chronic gastritis, duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer, non-ulcer dyspepsia, gastric cancer and gastric mucosal-associated lymphoma, and even parenteral diseases. Early diagnosis and treatment of Hp infection are particularly important. The clinical detection methods of Hp infection are mainly divided into two types: invasive and non-invasive. Invasive testing is somewhat traumatic, with poor coagulation function and poor compliance in patients or children taking anticoagulant drugs; non-invasive testing methods are less invasive and make up for the lack of poor compliance in invasive testing.
C13/C14 breath test Principle: After the subject takes urea C13/C14 capsules orally, if there are Helicobacter pylori in the stomach, the urease produced by it can quickly decompose urea into carbon dioxide and ammonia. The carbon dioxide enters the lungs through the blood and is excreted from the body. After the CO2 gas with the marker is collected and measured on the instrument, it can be judged whether there are Helicobacter pylori in the stomach. Clinically, this method is often used as the "gold standard" for diagnosis, and it is widely used.
