What is Lutein ester？
Lutein ester is an important carotenoid fatty acid ester, characterized by dark reddish brown small particles. At room temperature, high-purity lutein esters (with a content of 60% -95%) form a golden yellow ester orange red powder.
Lutein esters are widely present in plants such as marigolds, pumpkins, cabbage, fermented grains, spinach, lettuce, and green cauliflower. Among them, it is the most abundant in marigold flowers, up to 30% to 40%. In marigold and other plants, lutein generally exists in the form of esters by combining with fatty acids such as lauric acid and palmitic acid. After entering the human body, it will be hydrolyzed into lutein, which has the same eye protection function as lutein.
The main functions of lutein esters include: retinal health guardian, supplementing the body with necessary pigments, preventing AMD, and enhancing immunity.
