The story that links the Jannamico family to the liquor
sector begins in 1888 when Cav. Francesco
Jannamico, importing rum and sugar from the Antilles
and herbs and spices from all over the world,
begins the production of the first 'Punch Abruzzese'.
In his travels throughout Europe, he collects prizes
and awards, deserving, among others, an honorable
mention in the historic universal exposition
of Paris in 1900. His spirit and his knowledge handed
down from generation to generation, helped
to create the fame of Punch which still remains
one of the symbols of the regional liquor tradition.
At the end of the Second World War, Cav. Michele
Iannamico, Francesco's son, continues the family business
in Lanciano, a town full of charm and history,
nestled on the Abruzzo hills. He is succeeded by his
sons Francesco, Benedetto, and Carlo who carry on
and enrich the family business, extending the offer of
high-quality products. Then handing it down to their
sons Michele, Michelino, Giovanni and Filomena,
who in 2010 inaugurated the new modern factory of
Villa Martelli in which the family tradition continues
with the support of the fourth generation of the family.
Today as in the past, the products of the distillery
are the result of a balance between respect for
tradition and attention to new technologies. Herbs,
roots and fruits are selected and processed
with care and respect techniques perfected
overtime to guarantee superior quality products.
