Aluminum oxide used as desiccant, adsorbent, catalyst and catalyst carrier is called "Activated alumina", which has porous, high dispersion and large scale accumulation, and is widely used in the fields of petrochemical, fine chemical, biological and pharmaceutical. Activated alumina is generally made by aluminum hydroxide heating and dehydration. Aluminum hydroxide is also known as hydrated aluminum oxide, and its chemical composition is Al2O3· nH2O, is usually different by the number of crystalline water contained. After the aluminum hydroxide is heated and dehydrated, can obtaineρ-Al2O3.
