Working Principle
Supercritical fluid extraction and separation process is based on the relationship between the solubility of supercritical fluid and its density, that is, the influence of pressure and temperature on the solubility of supercritical fluid. When the gas is in the supercritical state, it becomes a single phase state with properties between liquid and gas, and has a density similar to that of liquid. Although the viscosity is higher than that of gas, it is obviously lower than that of liquid, and the diffusion coefficient is 10-100 times of that of liquid. Therefore, it has good permeability and strong solubility to the material, and can extract some components from the material. In the supercritical state, the supercritical fluid is contacted with the substance to be separated to selectively extract the components of polarity, boiling point and relative molecular weight in turn. The density and dielectric constant of supercritical fluid increase with the increase of pressure, and the polarity of supercritical fluid increases. Of course, the extract corresponding to each pressure range can not be single, but the best proportion of mixed components can be obtained by controlling the conditions. Then, the supercritical fluid is transformed into a common gas phase by means of decompression and heating, and the extracted substances are completely or basically separated automatically, so as to achieve the purpose of separation and purification.
