1.Replace phosgene as carbonylating agent
Dimethyl carbonate (DMC) can replace phosgene as a safe reagent to synthesize carbonic acid derivatives, such as carbamate pesticides, polycarbonate, isocyanate, etc. Among them, polycarbonate will be the field with the largest demand for Dimethyl carbonate.
2. Replace dimethyl sulfate as methylating agent
Dimethyl carbonate (DMC) has higher reaction yield and simpler process than dimethyl sulfate. Main uses include synthetic organic intermediates, pesticide products, etc.
3. Low toxicity solvent
Dimethyl carbonate used as a low toxicity solvent in the paint industry. Dimethyl carbonate is not only low in toxicity, but also has the characteristics of high flash point, low vapor pressure and lower explosion limit in air, so it is a green solvent that combines cleanliness and safety.
