Zinc selenide (ZnSe) lenses are designed for focusing or collimation applications in medium and long wave infrared spectroscopy. These lenses are made of II-VI infrared zinc selenide material, have a volume absorption coefficient of <0.0005cm-1 at a wavelength of 10.6μm, and are available without coating or in a variety of broadband anti-reflective coating options. 8-12μm coatings are ideal for use with CO2 lasers and thermal camera applications, while dual-band 3-12μm coatings are suitable for hyperspectral applications. Zinc selenide plano-convex lenses have irregularities of <λ/20 at 10.6μm wavelengths, a surface quality of 40-20, and a surface roughness of <50Å. Available in three diameter options with effective focal lengths ranging from 12.7mm to 200mm.
