Overview:
CURTIS 1243 Generation II MultiMode™ controllers are separately excited motor speed controllers designed for use in a variety of
small industrial vehicles and in material handling equipment. These programmable controllers are simple to install, efficient, and
cost effective, while offering more features than the original 1243.
The 1243 GEN2 MultiMode™ controller provides smooth precise control of motor speed and torque. A full-bridge field control stage
is combined with a half-bridge armature power stage to provide solid state motor reversing and full regenerative braking without
additional relays or contactors. The controller’s rugged IP53 housing and packaging are built to withstand shock and vibration.
State-of-the-art surface mount logic board fabrication makes the 1243 GEN2 controller even more reliable than the original 1243.
The 1243 GEN2 is fully programmable through the CURTIS Model 1313-4331 Handheld Programmer or 1314 PC Programming Station. In
addition to configuration flexibility, the programmer provides diagnostic and test capability.
Appropriate throttles for use with the 1243-4320 controller include:
* Type 1: 2-wire 5kΩ–0 throttles
* Type 2: 0–5V throttles, current source throttles, three-wire potentiometer throttles, and electronic throttles wired for
singleended operation
* Type 3: 2-wire 0–5kΩ throttles
* Type 4: 0–5V and three-wire potentiometer throttles wired for wigwag operation
