The electrode grip of the nut welder is also called the electrode clamp, which is used to stabilize the spot welding electrode. In addition to transmitting welding current, electrode force and cooling water to the electrode, it can also adjust the relative position between the electrode and the weldment according to the grip. Each welding point of the weldment can be realized.
The structure of the electrode handle is more complicated than that of the electrode, and its basic forms are as follows:
1. Universal Straight Grip.
2. Push-and-disassemble straight grip rod.
3. Eccentric grip (or curved grip).
4. Adjustable grip.
the most widely used, and it is suitable for places where the electrodes are not frequently disassembled on standard spot welders of various capacities. A wrench must be used to disassemble the electrode. The electrodes can then be removed and replaced.
There are three types of connection between the grip rod and the electrode: conical connection, thread connection and straight shank connection. Made of brass, its diameter should make the inner hole area of the conduit approximately equal to the annular area formed between its inner and outer diameters and the electrode cooling, and the front end of the water conduit should be cu

Electrode grips are generally made of copper alloys with high strength and good electrical conductivity. For low-carbon steel welding with low electrode force, Type 2 copper alloys can be used for the grip. Type 3 or Type 4 copper alloys, straight grips are generally machined from bar stock, curved grips and special purpose grips are made of castings or forgings.
