Krah Pipe: High-Density Polyethylene Structured Wall B-Type Piping Innovation by Zhongcai
The Krah Pipe, also known as the HDPE structured wall B-type pipe, is a uniquely shaped flexible piping material featuring a smooth inner wall and a spiral ribbed outer wall. Constructed through a spiral winding process, it comprises a base film and ribs that create a type-0 ribbed structure. This piping material is crafted using high-density polyethylene (HDPE) as its raw material. It undergoes a one-step forming process in a molten state, and before demolding, it is gradually cooled using a rolling air-cooling method while still hot. This gradual cooling allows the pipe to dissipate heat evenly, resulting in uniform wall thickness and devoid of internal stress.

Best Practices for Krah Pipe Installation: Ensuring Quality and Safety in Construction
 1. Pipes should be laid on undisturbed natural ground or on compacted backfill soil after trenching. The minimum soil cover beneath roadways should not be less than 700mm.
2. Krah Pipe engineering allows for trenching and follows standard trenching designs for pipeline laying, adhering to relevant construction regulations.
3. When pipelines cross railways, high-grade road embankments, or obstructed buildings, protective casings made of materials like reinforced concrete, steel, or cast iron should be installed. The casing's inner diameter should exceed the Krah Pipe's outer diameter by over 300mm, and the space between the pipe and casing ends should be filled with suitable material.
4. The net width of the trench bottom should be determined by adding 600mm to the pipe's outer diameter, allowing for convenient manual operations at the trench bottom.
5. During the rainy season, efforts should be made to minimize trenching length, creating trench blocks. Proper measures for backfilling blocks and preventing ponding should be implemented. In case of ponding, water should be drained, softened soil layers should be replaced with sand or medium-coarse sand, ensuring proper foundation treatment.
6. Pipeline installation primarily relies on manual labor. Workers transfer pipe sections to the trench bottom. For trenches deeper than 3m or pipes larger than 400mm in diameter, non-metallic ropes can be used to slide pipes smoothly into the trench position. Use of metal ropes to hook both ends of the pipe or rolling the pipe into the trench from the edge is strictly prohibited. For supported or mixed trenches, it is advisable to lower the pipe centrally from one end of the trench and position it at the trench bottom for installation.
7. For socket and spigot installation, the spigot should face downstream while the socket faces upstream. Installation should proceed from downstream to upstream.
8. Pipe length adjustments can be made using a handsaw without causing damage, ensuring a smooth and perpendicular cut.
