What is Polyaspartic Polyurea?
Polyaspartic Polyurea:
A two-component, high-performance, environmentally friendly material consisting of a low-activity secondary amine-based resin (polyaspartate resin) and an aliphatic isocyanate, with the reaction product called polyaspartate urea, or aspartic polyurea for short.
Polyaspartic polyurea was first invented by Bayer in Germany, and started to be used in the coating industry in the 1990s, and has been used for more than 30 years. Widely used in waterproof, anticorrosion, wear-resistant, riot control and other fields, known as the "history of the strongest black technology", has been the country used in the military and national defence projects, aviation, aerospace, nuclear submarines, high-speed rail, Rolls-Royce car body and tyres, bulletproof vests, cross-sea bridge connections and so on. Flexibility and hardness, very perfect combination.
What is the difference between a polyurea grout, hydrogenated epoxy grout and a traditional epoxy grout?
They are different raw material:
Polyurea Grout:Polyaspartic ester polyurea resin (environmental friendly)
Hydrogenated Epoxy Grout:Hydrogenated epoxy resin
Epoxy Grout:Epoxy resin
The polyurea: no solvent, never lose colors, flexible forever, you can't broke it.
Can do flat surface gap effect.
Is the best combination of hardness and flexibility.
Environmental friendly
The hydrogenated epoxy grout: can last 1 year then become yellow.
Better weather resistance than epoxy resin.
The epoxy grout: have solvent,lose color after 2 months.
Tile joints with a concave surface.
After it's dry, the grout become fragile, it's easy to be broken.
How to choose GROUT?
In view of the material properties and strong performance of polyurea grout, the cost of choosing them is also relatively high, so it is recommended to select according to individual needs and budget.
If you are on a budget: it is recommended to choose a polyurea grout to be used throughout the house;
If you have a limited budget: it is recommended that you use polyurea grout sealer in kitchen, bathroom and balcony, which has a stronger bond and won't change colour for a long time, and you can use epoxy grout in other areas;
If the budget is too small: you can choose dark coloured epoxy grout, light colours are easy to oxidise and discolour.
