Wooden cups have low thermal conductivity and are excellent at maintaining the temperature of their contents. Unlike ceramic and glass cups, wooden cups are also lightweight and difficult to break.
This product is available in 10 colors: 8 different vibrant colors as well as the glossy and matte variations of a natural wood-grain design. Please choose your favorite color from our lineup.
Also called Yamanaka lacquerware, Yamanaka-nuri is a type of lacquerware produced in the Yamanaka Onsen area of Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
Yamanaka, known for its wooden lacquerware, is one of the three major lacquerware production areas in the prefecture, along with Wajima and Kanazawa, which are known respectively for Wajima-nuri and makie lacquerware. Yamanaka has long been home to a large number of kijishi* (wood craftsmen) and boasts the nation's largest production of hikimono-kiji* (woodturner crafts).
One of the main characteristics of Yamanaka-nuri, which seeks to create natural textures by making use of wood-grain patterns, is the vertical cutting technique used to cut the wood in the direction in which the tree grows to create the shape of the vessel. This technique creates robust lacquerware that is resistant to deformation in a dry environment, and it allows for the intricate finishing of not only bowls but also thinly turned wooden ware and lidded items. Furthermore, unique Yamanaka-nuri lacquerware with meticulous attention to detail has also been crafted using the kashokubiki* (decorative woodturning) technique, in which various patterns such as "sensuji" (thousand lines) and "arasuji" (rough lines) are applied to the wood.

Products Description

Folding fans can be used to easily generate a breeze. Dozens of long, thin bamboo or wooden ribs are bound together and secured at the rivet at the end of the fan, allowing the leaves to be folded when not in use and unfolded for use by extending the adhered paper in a stepwise way to create the surface of the fan. The fan can be stored in a small space when folded. Its elongated shape makes it easy to carry around when folded, and many people use it to cool off when they are outside in the summer.

One charming quality of a basket bag made from crimson glory vine is the way its color and sheen start to deepen and grow on you the more it is used.
As the vine is very strong, the bag can be used for as long as 100 years by three different generations as long as it is well cared for.
The more it is used, the more the bag takes on a dark sheen. Its evolving appearance is one of the enjoyable aspects of using a basket bag made from crimson glory vine.
