The HIRIKON HCG test kit is used to qualitatively detect human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in the urine of women to detect pregnancy.
HCG is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by pregnant women and mainly exists in urine of pregnant women. Early gestation produces a rapid increase in HCG, with levels increasing by about 50% per day nine days after conception. The strip accurately detected pregnancy when HCG levels were
between 25 mIU/ mL and 500,000 mIU/ mL.
The antibody-antigen complex binds to the HCG antibody in the test region (T), which produces a red line when HCG concentration is equal to or greater than 25mIU/mL. In the absence of HCG, the test area (T)has no lines. The reaction mixture continues to pass through the test zone (T) and control zone (C), and the reagent binding of the unbound conjugate control zone (C) will produce a red line, indicating the normal operation of the test zone.
