MATERIAL SELECTION
The first challenge for cutting blades is avoiding knife crack which means the knife should be good enough for its toughness and ductility. Good toughness and ductility are not enough. The knife should also be good for wear resistance. Thus the knife has long work life. In addition, the blade must also have good high temperature resistance. The knife edge cannot be annealed due to high temperature, otherwise the life will be drastically reduced.

Therefore, the need for appropriate materials to adapt to a variety of cutting conditions.Our company uses tungsten carbide, high speed steel, and customized material as the tool material, and has carried on the rust prevention treatment. the following are the benefits of diffrent blade material:
D2 steel is high carbon and high chromium steel. As a kind of steel,its biggest advantage is anti-rust,moth-eaten,
weather-resistant to adapt to the climate is very strong. At the same time anti-corrosion is also excellent, in the general
environment, its anti-corrosion effect can reach 30 to 50 years, plus its appearance is relatively beautiful, processing is very easy. These characteristics have led to a wide range of applications, such as automotive manufacturing processes, electrical products, aerospace, precision instrument manufacturing and food canning, which can be used as a variety of alternative materials.
High chromium content: D2 steel also has a high chromium content, almost as much as stainless steel.
High toughness: Chromium can increase the rust resistance of blades. In addition to excellent rust resistance, the best part of D2 steel is its increased toughness.
High stability: D2 Steel has high stability.
M2 is a high carbon and high alloy tool steel suitable for high speed cutting. Its outstanding characteristics are high hardness, wear resistance and thermal hardness. When the cutting tool temperature reaches about 500~600°C, the hardness does not decrease obviously, and the cutting speed is higher than that of low alloy cutting tool steel, it is mainly used for manufacturing various cutting tools with high cutting speed, heavy load and high working temperature, such as turning tool, milling cutter, hob, planer, broach, drill, tap, and etc. it can also be used to manufacture cold and hot deformation mould with high wear resistance, high temperature spring, high temperature bearing and so on.

Tungsten carbide is an alloy made of hard compounds of refractory metals and bonded metals by a Powder metallurgy process. It is known as “Industrial tooth”, used in the manufacture of cutting tools, cutting tools, cobalt tools and wear resistant parts, widely used in military, aerospace, machining, metallurgy, oil drilling, mining tools, electronic communication, construction and other fields. Tungsten carbide has a series of excellent properties, such as high hardness, wear resistance, good strength and toughness, heat resistance, corrosion resistance and so on, especially its high hardness and wear resistance, even at 500°C the hardness is almost constant, and at 1000°C the hardness is still very high.
