The Q-switched Nd YAG laser is a non-invasive way to treat pigmented skin problems, producing a high-intensity pulsed beam that lasts only a billionth of a second. Using these ultrashort pulse lasers with a wavelength of 1064 nanometers, the laser is able to target melanosomes in dermal melanocytes.
