working principle:

An incremental encoder is a rotary sensor that converts rotational displacement into a series of digital pulse signals. These pulses are used to control the angular displacement. The angular displacement conversion in the Eltra encoder uses the principle of photoelectric scanning. The reading system is based on the rotation of a radial indexing disk (code wheel) consisting of alternating light-transmissive windows and opaque windows, while being vertically illuminated by an infrared source, which projects the image of the code disk onto the surface of the receiver. . The receiver is covered with a diffraction grating having the same window width as the code wheel. The job of the receiver is to experience the changes in the rotation of the disc and then to convert the changes in light into corresponding electrical changes. The low level signal is then raised to a higher level and a square pulse is generated without any interference, which must be handled by electronic circuitry. The reading system is usually differential, comparing two signals with the same waveform but 180° out of phase to improve the quality and stability of the output signal. The reading is based on the difference between the two signals, eliminating interference.
