The production of hydrogen plays a key role in any industrialized society, since hydrogen is required for many chemical processes. Although electrolysis of water accounts for 4% of the world's hydrogen production, water electrolysis can use any source of electricity including renewable energy. Hydrogen generation systems have been widely used in industries like power plants, steel mills, glass, polysilicon, chip manufacturing, precise instruments and etc.

Alkaline Type Hydrogen Generation System

 

Advantages:

Stack output pressure 1.5-3.2MPa (without compressor);

Large capacity of single stack (2000Nm3/hr = 10MW);

Large capacity of single purification unit (8000Nm3/hr);

High efficiency DC power consumption: 4.3~4.6kwh/Nm3 H2

                        AC power consumption: 4.6~5.0kwh/Nm3 H2

PEM Type Hydrogen Generation System

 

Advantages:

Both normal and pressurized stack (0-4.0Mpa)

Large capacity of single stack (300Nm3/hr = 1.5MW);

Large capacity of single system (1.5MW×4 stacks = 6MW);

Area saving (1/5 compared with ALK)

High efficiency DC power consumption: ≤ 4.3kwh/Nm3 H2

                        AC power consumption: ≤ 5.0kwh/Nm3 H2
