Color Amber (Transparent Dark Yellow) PEI Board Name: Chinese Polyetherimide Board English Name: Polyetherimide PEI Board belongs to non crystalline plastics. It is an amorphous high-performance polymer made from engineering plastics made from amorphous PEI (polyetherimide) through high-temperature extrusion using an extruder. The commonly used PEI board currently uses raw materials from GE in the United States (trade name Ultem), and in 1972, GE began researching and developing PEI.

(2) PEI is an amber transparent solid that has inherent flame retardancy and low smoke without any additives. It has an oxygen index of 47% and a combustion level of UL94-V-0. (3) The density of PEI is 1.28-1.42g/cm3, with a glass transition temperature of 215 ℃ and a hot deformation temperature of 198-208 ℃. It can be used for a long time at 160-180 ℃, and the maximum allowable intermittent use temperature is 200 ℃. (4) PEI has excellent mechanical strength, electrical insulation performance, radiation resistance, high and low temperature resistance, fatigue resistance, and formability; Adding glass fiber, carbon fiber, or other fillers can achieve the purpose of reinforcement and modification.

Polyetherimide has a wide range of chemical resistance, including resistance to most hydrocarbons, alcohols, and all halogenated solvents; It can also withstand inorganic acids and short-term weak alkalis. Polyetherimide is a good choice for partially halogenated solvents. Its hydrolysis stability is very good. After soaking in boiling water for 10000 hours, its tensile strength remains above 85%. At a temperature of 270F, after 2000 cycles of steam hot pressing, its tensile strength remains at 100%. Polyetherimide has excellent UV and Y-ray resistance, and can maintain a tensile strength of 94% when processed under 400 megarad cobalt radiation.
According to the regulations of the Insurance Laboratories of the United States, the long-term use temperature of polyetherimide resin is 338T and 356T (according to the grade), with a combustion grade of UL94V-0 (10 mil thickness.) and an oxygen index of 47. Polyetherimide meets the FAA material standards for flame retardancy and heat dilution required for aircraft interiors. Its glass transition temperature is 419F and allows for intermittent use at 392F, resulting in short-term offset at higher temperatures. At 356T, the tensile temperature and flexural modulus are above 41 and 2068 MPa, respectively. Materials reinforced with glass fiber and carbon fiber exhibit higher strength and stiffness near the glass transition temperature.
The long-term creep resistance of polyetherimide under high temperature and stress allows it to replace metals and other materials in many structural devices. It exhibits excellent electrical performance under variable temperature, humidity, and frequency conditions. The low loss factor at GHz frequency gives polyetherimide high microwave penetrability. Its ionic pollutants have a low level, and its conductivity after being extracted with water for 120 hours at 250F100% R.H. and 207kPa is above 20 megaohms. It can be used as an insulation material for electronic sensor components.
