Galvanized coil is a thin steel plate that is immersed in a molten zinc bath to adhere a layer of zinc to its surface. The main production method is continuous galvanizing, which involves continuously immersing rolled steel plates in a zinc coated bath to produce galvanized steel plates; Alloyed galvanized steel sheet. This type of steel plate is also manufactured by hot-dip method, but after leaving the tank, it is immediately heated to around 500 ℃ to form an alloy film of zinc and iron. This galvanized coil has good adhesion and weldability of the coating.
Surface Treatment
1.passivation
The passivation treatment of the galvanized layer can reduce the occurrence of rust (white rust) under humid and warm storage and transportation conditions. But the anti-corrosion performance of this chemical treatment is limited, and it hinders the adhesion of most coatings. This treatment is generally not used on zinc iron alloy coatings. In addition to smoothing the surface, as a routine practice, manufacturers perform passivation treatment on other types of galvanized coatings.
2.Oil coating
Oil coating can reduce the corrosion of steel plates under humid storage and transportation conditions. Applying oil to passivated steel plates and strips will further reduce corrosion under humid storage conditions. The oil layer should be able to be removed with a degreasing agent that does not damage the zinc layer.
3.Lacquer seal
By applying a very thin layer of transparent organic coating film, an additional anti-corrosion effect can be provided, especially in terms of fingerprint resistance. It can improve lubrication during molding and serve as an adhesive substrate for subsequent coatings.
4.Phosphating
Through phosphating treatment, galvanized steel plates of various coating types can be coated without further treatment except for normal cleaning. This treatment can improve the adhesion and corrosion resistance of the coating, reducing the risk of corrosion during storage and transportation. After phosphating, it can be used with suitable lubricants to improve the formability.
