Hot air gun A heat gun is a device used to emit a stream of hot air, usually at temperatures between 100 °C and 550 °C (200-1000 °F), with some hotter models running at around 760 °C (1400 °F), which can be held by hand. The shape of a heat gun is usually an elongated body pointing toward the object to be heated, with the handle fixed to it at a right angle, and a pistol-grip trigger having the same pistol shape as many other power tools.
Despite its similarities to a hair dryer, it is not meant to be a substitute for the latter, which safely disperses heat through a nozzle to prevent scalp burns and has a limited range of temperatures, while a heat gun has a centralized element and nozzle , as well as higher temperatures, which can easily scald the scalp or set hair on fire.
