In addition to feeding the castings,preventing shrinkage cavities and shrinkageporosity,the riser sleeve should also have other func
tions:
1.lt has the function of air outlet.During the pouring process,the molten metal gradually flls the cavity,and the gas in the cavity can
escape through the riser.
2.It is used to adjust the cooling rate of each part of the casting.When setting the position of the inner runner,the solidification
sequence should be considered. However,for castings with complex shapes and uneven wallthickness,it is not enough to adjust the
thermal field by the runner alone.Requires cold iron and riser to cooperate.
