Description
Bitumen, also known as asphalt, is a sticky, black and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum.
Thanks to its waterproofing qualities, it is widely used in construction.
Bituminous membranes are perfect for waterproofing roofs, basements,below-ground structures, bridges and other structures.
There are mainly 2 different application methods of bitumen membranes.
One is Torch-on
Another is Self adhesive
Torch-on bituminous membranes are an effective, easy and simple product for all seasons. Once applied, CHENHUA bituminous membranes are a thin layer of watertight material, that is fully-bonded to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membrane are widely applied on different grades of building waterproofing & seepage-proofng projects ,both for exposed and unexposed places,such as,flat roof ,slope roof ,underground,tunnel, bridge, parking lot, reservoir etc.
1:Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is clean, dry and free of all contaminants and correctly prepared.
All dust and loose friable material must be removed.
Blow holes and voids should be fully exposed then repaired.
2:Primer: Painting primer before laying the membrane, clean the dust on the substrate with dust catcher or dust-blower; then paint entirely with treatment primer for waterproofing(for purpose of dust consolidation and high adhesive effect).

3: Membrane place
*Unroll the torch-on and align it before torching or bonding.
*Each membrane must be laid parallel to each other and must be staggered by at least 1m to avoid coinciding joints.
*The end-to-end overlaps must always be alternate, never arranged along a single line.
*Always start on the lowest height of the slope and with the drains, the downpipes or other details.
*The torching of the rolls must heat the membrane and the substrate at the same time, concentrating on the roll and the overlapping.
*The overlaps must be welded with great care until a trickle of melted mixture about 1cm wide can be seen coming out along the line of the overlap
4: Use a roller to push hard the membrane surface to ensure it stick firmly.
