1. Why is new bed linen too big?\t -fleuresse® bed linen is made from natural fibers such as cotton, linen or TENCEL®. These shrink after washing. As bed linen manufacturers, we have many years of experience of which fabric shrinks in which dimensions. This is why each bed linen is made to different sizes - depending on the type of fabric - to allow for shrinkage after washing. After all, the bed linen should fit your comforter cover not before but after washing. -New bed linen should always be washed at 60 degrees before first use, also to fix the colors. Drying in a tumble dryer causes the fabric to shrink even more. The fabric dimensions may therefore vary slightly.
2. How do I maintain the shine of my Mako satin bed linen?\t -Our cotton mako satin bed linen has a slightly silky, shiny surface thanks to its special weave and finishing by mercerizing and calendering. This cannot be washed out. However, the fabric is so stressed by the friction in the washing machine and even more so in the dryer that the fibers are slightly roughened. This reduces the shine. The fabric must then be ironed to smooth out the raised fibers. Ironing would be even better. This will make the surface smooth again and the shine will return.
3. How often should I change my bed linen?\t -Your bed linen should be changed every one or two weeks. The sweat excreted at night, together with dander and hair, forms the ideal breeding ground for mites, bacteria and fungi. It is therefore important to change and wash the covers regularly to maintain hygiene in your bed. If you sweat a lot or have a cold, it is advisable to change the covers once a week. In summer, the covers should generally be changed more frequently.
