As a water-specific laser, the VeinCure 1470 laser targets water as the chromophore to absorb the laser energy. Since vein structure is mostly water, it’s theorized that the 1470 nm laser wavelength efficiently heats endothelial cells with a low risk of collateral damage, resulting in an optimal vein ablation.
Triangelaser VeinCure 1470nm EVLT can be used to treat the full range of varicose veins, including large veins not treatable with non-thermal solutions.

Application
When combined with the 1470 mm laser source, this laser fiber that emits at 360° affords the ideal endovenous thermal ablation. It is therefore possible to gently and evenly introduce the laser energy into the lumen of the vein and ensure the closure of the vein based on photothermal destruction (at temperatures between 100 and 120°C). Perforation of the vein wall (as in the case of the conventional bare tip fibre) and the associated thermal irritation of the surrounding tissue are prevented, thereby minimizing postoperative pain, ecchymosis, and other side effects.

1. What is the procedure of the EVLT operation?
After your scan your leg will be cleaned before a tiny amount of anaesthetic is applied (using super fine needles).
A catherer is inserted into the vein and the Endovenous Laser fibre is inserted.
After this a cool anaesthetic is then applied around your vein to protect surrounding tissues.
You will then be required to wear goggles before the laser machine is switched on.
During the procedure the laser will be pulled back to seal the faulty vein. Rarely will patients experience any discomfort when the laser is being used.
After the procedure you will be required to wear stockings for 5-7 days and walk half an hour a day.
Long distance travel is not permitted for 4 weeks.
Your leg may feel numb for six hours after the procedure.
A follow-up appointment is required for all patients. At this appointment further treatment may occur with ultrasound guided sclerotherapy.
