Application
As an acidic hardener, methyl nadic anhydride is mainly used as an epoxy resin hardener, and it is used as an epoxy resin hardener in the insulation fields of generators, automotive motors, transformers, rotors, etc. The high chemical reactivity of the substance enables it to react with the epoxy group in the epoxy resin to form a cross-linked network structure. This network structure endows epoxy resin with good mechanical properties, thermal stability and electrical insulation properties, so it is widely used in the field of electrical insulation. Epoxy resin curing agent is a chemical reaction with epoxy resin to form a network stereopolymer. Dibasic acids and their anhydrides such as maleic anhydride and phthalic anhydride can cure epoxy resins, but must be baked at higher temperatures to cure completely. The anhydride first reacts with the hydroxyl group in the epoxy resin to form a single ester, and the carboxyl group in the single ester is esterified by addition to the epoxy group to form a double ester.
