Manufacturing Technique
Seamless carbon steel pipes are made of steel ingots or solid billets through perforation and then hot rolled, cold rolled or cold drawn. The raw material for seamless carbon steel pipes is round tube blanks, which are cut into billets with a length of about 1 meter by a cutting machine and sent to the furnace for heating through a conveyor belt. The billet is fed into the furnace and heated at around 1,200 degrees Celsius. The fuel is hydrogen or acetylene. Furnace temperature control is a critical issue. After the round tube blank is released from the furnace, it is punched through a pressure punching machine. The most common punching machine is the cone roller punching machine. This kind of punching machine has high production efficiency, good product quality, large drilling volume, large diameter expansion, and can wear a variety of steel types. After the round tube blank is perforated, it is sequentially subjected to three-roll cross rolling, continuous rolling or extrusion.
1. Seamless steel pipe for structural use (GBT8162-2008). Mainly used for general structures and mechanical structures. Its representative materials (grades): carbon steel, 20, 45 steel; Q345, 20Cr, 40Cr, 20CrMo, 30-35CrMo, 42CrMo and other alloy steels.
2. Seamless steel pipes for transporting fluids (GBT8163-2008). Mainly used for pipelines transporting fluids in engineering and large equipment. Representative materials (grades) are 20, Q345, etc.
3. GB3087-2008 "Seamless Steel Pipes for Medium and Low Pressure Boilers" is used to manufacture various structures such as superheated steam pipes, boiling water pipes, superheated steam pipes, large smoke pipes, small smoke pipes, arch bricks and other structures for medium and low pressure boilers used in locomotive boilers. The representative materials are 10 and 20 steel.
