Product Introduction
Carboxymethylcellulose sodium (CMC) is the sodium salt of cellulose carboxymethyl ether. It is an anionic cellulose ether. It is a white or milky white fibrous powder or granule with a density of 0.5-0.7 g/cubic centimeter. It is almost odorless, tasteless and hygroscopic. Easily dispersed in water to form a transparent colloidal solution, insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol. The pH of 1% aqueous solution is 6.5~8.5. When pH>10 or <5, the viscosity of the glue is significantly reduced, and the performance is best when pH=7. It is thermally stable. The viscosity rises rapidly below 20°C and changes slowly at 45°C. Long-term heating above 80°C can cause its colloid to denature and its viscosity and performance to decrease significantly. Easily soluble in water, the solution is transparent; very stable in alkaline solutions, easily hydrolyzed when exposed to acid, precipitation will occur when the pH value is 2-3, and precipitation will occur when encountering multivalent metal salts.
