The Formula Leopard 5 is the first model of BYD's Formula Leopard car, built on the DMO super hybrid off-road platform, integrating "high-end hardcore off-road" and "luxurious and comfortable driving".
Appearance design
The FORMULA Leopard 5 adopts a "square box" design, with a long front grille, a circular through LED light strip, and a rugged front bumper, enhancing the vehicle's rugged atmosphere. The body size is 4890 × 1970 × 1920 millimeters, with a wheelbase of 2800 millimeters, positioned as a mid size tough SUV. The rear part of the car adopts a side opening tailgate design, and is equipped with an external spare tire and a thick rear bumper, enhancing the tough attributes of the rear.
Power performance
The FORMULA Leopard 5 is equipped with a DMO super hybrid system, including a 1.5T engine and dual motors, with a combined power of 505 kW, peak torque of 760 Nm, and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.8 seconds. The vehicle adopts a non load bearing body structure and a longitudinal EHS hybrid system, which has the characteristics of low fuel consumption and long range. The pure electric range is 125 kilometers, and the comprehensive range can reach 1200 kilometers.
Off road performance
The biggest feature of FORMULA Leopard 5 is that it is equipped with "three locks", including electronic differential locks on the front and rear axles and "energy lock". The rear axle is equipped with a low-speed off-road gear with a speed ratio of 21, providing over 8000 Nm of wheel end torque to meet various extreme off-road needs. The vehicle has a high ground clearance (220 millimeters) and wading depth (790 millimeters), an approach angle of 39 degrees, a departure angle of 35 degrees, and a longitudinal pass angle of 20 degrees, ensuring good passability.
Intelligent technology configuration
The FORMULA Leopard 5 is equipped with DiLink intelligent networking system and DiPilot L2+level intelligent assisted driving system, supporting functions such as automatic lane change assistance, automatic parking and entry, and full speed adaptive cruise control. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with auxiliary functions such as 540 degree panoramic imaging, water wading sensing, tank turning, and creeping mode, which enhance driving safety and convenience.
