Millimeter wave radar 120GHz high precision water level gauge


This radar level sensor developed by Luda technology.


Versatile and simple to install, the radar sensor is used for contactless measurement of the levels of surface water. Accuracy and performance are unaffected by changes in water density.
 

 

This radar is a transmitter for continuous level measurements using fast sweep Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FWCW) technology.


The antenna of radar continuously emits signal sweeps with a constantly varying frequency towards the water surface on 120GHz. The separate receiver antenna receives the frequency of the reflected signal from the water and uses them to determine the distance between sensor and water surface. The actual water level of the waterway is then calculated automatically, if required, by the radar sensor. To do this, on initial startup there is the possibility of inputting reference value.


Provided that the unit has been mounted correctly according to the operating instructions, the complete radar sensors is flood proof with IP68 rating
