Introduction
The increasing complexity of the geometry of the molds and the diversification of the product applications lead to higher and higher requirements for the discharge accuracy of the EDM. The graphite electrodes are easier processed with high removal rate of discharge machining and low graphite loss. In addition, some special shapes of electrodes can not be manufactured with copper, but graphite is easier to mold. Meanwhile, copper electrodes are heavier, so it is not suitable for processing large electrodes. Therefore, graphite electrodes are more and more widely used.
