Concerning Turnbuckles:

Turnbuckles are metal fittings used for increasing the tension of wire ropes and so forth, and threaded rods are screwed in both ends of the body frames, a right-hand thread in one side and a left-hand thread in the other side. Turnbuckles are the products that can adjust the tension according to moving distance between the threaded rods by rotating the frames.

In construction, turnbuckles are used as tightening metal fittings of earthquake-resistant around steel bar braces (turnbuckle braces) for medium and low storied steel frame buildings. The turnbuckle braces are building materials designated by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in the Building Standards Act, and are also main structural members for the earthquake resistant of the steel frame buildings.
