〇Hokken’s Mushroom Culturing Spawn
The mushrooms we use for culturing are converted into sawdust spawn by allowing the mushroom to proliferate in sterilized sawdust before use in culturing. Culturing tests are performed on each production lot of the sawdust spawn produced by Hokken, and we only ship spawn with reliable quality. Mushrooms vary each time they propagate, so special techniques are required to make culturing consistent.

From the 1960s to the 1980s, Hokken was synonymous with nameko mushrooms, and our culturing spawn and equipment were favored by nameko mushroom growers in Japan. However, from the 1990s to the present day, our main business has been selling culturing spawn and equipment to shiitake mushroom growers. We provide comprehensive consultation on culturing shiitake mushrooms in mushroom beds, from planning the culturing plant to culturing instructions and the sale of the final product.

〇Consistent mushroom varieties are essential for mushroom growing!
Mushroom growing requires mushroom varieties with consistent properties so that the volume of production can be calculated. It is impossible to run a stable business if the shape, yield, and quality are different for every growing cycle. Hokken’s mushroom varieties include varieties which reach their full potential in a wide variety of culturing environments. If you consult with us about the mushroom quality and culturing environment, etc., we will provide the most profitable mushroom variety.
