Sugi is considered sacred in Japanese tradition, and often enshrined. It has been believed as a special place where gods assemble. This table was made of a single Sugi which has a beautiful contrast of colors – mostly reddish brown and white, and the wood grain patterns are complex and rich. The tree was beautiful as it was, so we have decided to preserve the original shape and color as much as possible, with minimum processing. We hope the owner to feel the power of nature through this beautiful table.

Company Profile
My inspiration for creating furniture from single planks of wood was born from my love for natural wooden planks with distinctive colors and shapes that cannot be found elsewhere. They made me wonder if I was able to bring the charms of these materials to as many people as possible in the course of my current line of work. To do that, I started to research on lumber dealers all around Japan.
After a series of telephone inquiries and on-site observation sessions, I encountered one of Japan's three magnificent cedars, the ""Yanase-sugi"" from the Shikoku region. As with its famous counterparts ""Yakushima-sugi"" and ""Akita-sugi,"" Shikoku's ""Yanase-sugi"" is an exceedingly valuable cedar that will become increasingly rare in the market after it was banned from being logged in 2018.
Although these cedars all give rise to stunning wooden planks that are over 100 years old with their own unique stories, my surprise did not end there. According to the Yanase-sugi supplier, the wood has been stored in the warehouse for many years ever since he purchased it because he was attracted to it.
I was immediately struck by an idea: What if I could put all the wood stored here to good use and offer the warmth of natural materials to families out there at reasonable prices? I promptly purchased the Yanase-sugi and started to transform them into commercial products.
One-and-only wooden planks for your one-and-only family. We hope to share this wonderful product with everyone around the country to put a smile on the faces of people seated around a homely dining table.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
