"UENO AIR" is woven from a special yarn that is produced by first intertwining twisted cotton yarn with water-soluble yarn in the reverse direction. The method of "post-bleaching" unique to Senshu towels is then used to dissolve the water-soluble yarn, which triggers an expansion of the cotton yarn and creates air pockets within it. The final result is a towel that is flexible and light. The air pockets trapped in the cotton yarn give the material a soft and elegant texture, and impart the product with excellent water absorption and quick-drying properties. At the same time, this towel does not pill as easily as regular towels made from loosely-twisted yarn.
