1.Salt Chlorinator description:
Salt water chlorination is a process that uses dissolved salt (2,500–6,000 ppm) as a store for the chlorination system.[1] The chlorine generator (also known as salt cell, salt generator, salt chlorinator) uses electrolysis in the presence of dissolved salt (NaCl) to produce hypochlorous acid (HCIO) and sodium hypochlorite (NaClO), which are the sanitizing agents already commonly used in swimming pools. As such, a saltwater pool is not actually chlorine-free; it simply utilizes a chlorine generator instead of direct addition of chlorine.
This complete system will allow you to convert any swimming pool, up to 30,000 gallons to saltwater in less than an hour. With only a teaspoon of ordinary, inexpensive salt per gallon, our Salt Water Pool Chlorinator will keep your pool sparkling clean and you will never buy chlorine again. 5.Operation - overview
The chlorinator has a number of functions and indictors to assist in the operation of the unit.
Please refer to the explanatory notes and diagrams to understand each function.
4 On/Off Auto Switch On for Manual operation, auto for time clock operation
4 System Control Used to adjust the chlorine production.
4 Display This shows the output in a percentage form (%) 100% = Maximum output
4 Winter Switch Use in cooler weather. Adjusts output to 82%
4 Operation LEDs this shows the conditions the cell is operating in. See Pages 8 for
further details.
4 Time Clock This allows for automatic start & stop of the pump and chlorinator.
4 Pool Light Switch - Operates the pool light if fitted.
4 Fuses are incorporated for protection of transformer and electronic equipment.
6.Operation starting up
Pool Balance
Ensure pool water is balanced prior to operation; consult your local pool shop for further advice.
Salt
After the unit has been installed, add salt to reach a level of 0.4% (4000ppm), and allow to dissolve prior to start up.
Hint Adding 40Kg per 10,000 Litres = 0.4%

7.How does it work?
After you add simple salt to your pool, the pool water passes through the chlorine generator cell which, through electrolysis, uses the salt water to produce the hypochlorous acid, the same component produced when chlorine is added to pool water. The water is pumped back into your pool with newly produced chlorine, ready to kill micro-organisms and help to kill bacteria and algae build-up so you have a safe, sanitary pool.
