Product Usage
An electric current, generated from an energizer which is earthed, travels along a fence wire as a pulse.The circuit between the fence and the ground is completed when an animal touch the fence wire and consequently receives a short, sharp but safe shock.

An electric fence energizer converts mains or battery power into a high voltage pulse. The energizer releases this pulse on to an insulated fence line about once every second. The pulse itself is only around 150 microseconds long.

Typical recommendation is one joule per mile of fence. Keep in mind that bigger is better, until the point that induction occurs. Induction will power gates and neutral wire when voltage gets too high.
How long does an electric fence energizer last?
An average sized 12V energizer (designed for a paddock or medium sized field) will run for approx 2 weeks on a 12V rechargeable battery before the battery needs to be taken in to be recharged.
