- What is ion-crystal Water?
In fluid water, each water molecule does not exit independently but is linked together in a pentagon or hexagonal ring,
which is called five-angled ion-water or ion-crystal water.
A research by Professor Jeon Moo-shik at KAIST categorized the chemical structures of drinking water into three:
a hexagonal ring structure, a pentagon ring structure and a pentagon chain structure.
Among them, a hexagonal ring structure is the most beneficial to body cells.
Professor Jeon noted that the easiest way to produce it is to ionize water into ion-crystal water.
The method produces ion water (ion-crystal water) by electrolyzing water.
- How ion water is created?
When the most original form of water, tapped water is purified and given electrified,
alkaline water is created at a cathode and acidic water at an anode.
Since a cathode contains lots of positive ionic substance, such as Ca+, Mg++, K+ and Na++,
as well as H², alkaline water with low pH is created. An anode, which has a lot of negative ionic substance,
such as CI¯ and S¯, produces acidic water with high pH.
- How living water, “alkaline water” is good for human body?
- Alkaline ion-crystal water, of which natural minerals are not destructed and
with lots of hexagonal-ringed molecules is found in villages across the world that are famous for longevity.
- It eliminates waste materials and has highly concentrated health-benefiting minerals.
Drinking clean and fresh “alkaline water” is the short cut to health.
- Alkaline ion-crystal water is living water that prompts physiological functions
such as elimination of waste materials and provision of minerals that we could easily lack.
- Alkaline Water and Reactive Oxygen
Three to ten percent of oxygen inhaled by mammals, including humans is transformed into reactive oxygen.
Reactive oxygen plays a significant role, because when germs, virus, molds and
other foreign substance invade into the body, macrophages within a leukocyte eliminates the alien materials
by using reactive oxygen, thereby protecting the body.
However, when the level of reactive oxygen increases than needed due to ultra rays,
intake of medicine and environment pollutants,
it regards even healthy cells and organs as alien substances and attacks them
to inflict medical damage. Therefore, it works like a double-edged sword.
When the amount of reactive oxygen becomes excessive and set to attack healthy cells and organs,
an enzyme, called super oxide dismutase (SOD) in the body disintegrates the reactive oxygen.
The damages done by environmental destruction are seen to be the results of excessive reactive oxygenproduced
by chemicals, sterilizer and nitrogen compound such as radioactive rays, agricultural chemicals, pesticides,
processed food and anticancer drugs. It would be nice, if SOD works well to get rid of excessive reactive oxygen,
no matter how much of them are created. But SOD gets weaken with aging.
- Water that eliminates reactive oxygen, the source of various diseases
The research paper, titled “Alkaline water eliminates reactive oxygen and protects DNA from oxidative damages”
by professor Shirahata at Kyoto University in Japan referred alkaline water at a cathode created by electrolysis.
He argued that the active hydrogen contained in electrolytic reducing water gets rid of reactive oxygen,
hence keeps body health and has healing effect for adult diseases.
Reactive oxygen or free radical inflicts oxidative damage to bio-molecules, leading to aging and various aliments.
And active hydrogen, which eliminates reactive oxygen, is created at cathode in the process of electrolysis.
He also noted that electrolytic reducing water has high pH, low dissolved oxygen (DO),
high dissolved hydrogen (DH) and negative oxidation reduction potential (ORP).
- How ion-crystal water is produced?
- Electrolyzed ion water (alkaline water and acidic water) -> produced by unit of second

Ion water has the same chemical structure with ion-crystal water.
The method that can promptly produce substances of the same chemical structure
with ion-crystal water is electrolysis.
- What is pH (Power of Hydrogen)?
Power of hydrogen refers to the hydrogen ion concentration of aqueous solution.
If a substance contains more H+ ion than OH¯ ion at its aqueous solution, the substance is alkaline,
and if there is more OH¯ than H+, then it is called acidic.
pH of ion water
Alkaline water: When H2O is dissociated into H+ and OH¯, most H+ receive an electron to turn into H²,
while some OH¯ are combined with positive ions and the remaining OH¯ is left in the water as OH¯.
pH is alkaline.
Acidic water: When H2O is dissociated into H+ and OH¯,
most of them lose electrons to become O² and H+ is left in the water. => pH turns into acidic.
- Usage of Alkaline Water
- Cooking rice: When rice is kept in alkaline water for 30~60 minutes before cooking,
the steamed rice glitters with moist and has fresh taste.
It could be freshly preserved and does not easily rotten even in summer.
- Alkaline water eliminates bitter taste of coffee, puckery taste of black and green tea,
while boosting the subtle taste and scent that are unique to tea.
- Drinking one or two cups of alkaline water upon excessive drinking,
a hangover, empty stomach or before sleeping is very good for health.
- When vegetables and fruits are cleaned with alkaline water,
they could be preserved freshly for a long time.
- When liver, pork, meat and vegetables with odor are kept in alkaline water for about 20~30 minutes
before cooking, the odor is lessened and their texture gets tender and tasty.
- Mixing powdered milk in alkaline water is good for babies.
- Alkaline water eliminates the pungent taste of bamboo shoot, herbs, taro and brown seaweed,
and boosts their original tastes when used in cooking. In particular,
the alkaline water gets rid of fish’s smell and enhances its taste.
- When seeds are kept in alkaline water before sowing, the rate of sprouting is increased.
The water also helps planting a cutting as well as grafting.
- Usage of Acidic Water
- It is good to use acidic water during bath. Since the acidic water is astringent,
it makes skin tender and elastic (skin is weak acidic).
If you use acidic water to rinse after washing hair with soap, it neutralizes the base of the soap,
making the hair glitter. The acidic water could be used after shaving as the replacement of skin lotion,
because it works as a sterilizer and astringent.
- When a flower is kept in acidic water with its stalk’s cut end dipped in it,
it could be freshly preserved for a long time.
- Acidic water’s sterilizing, odor-preventing and bleaching functions easily wash out the dirt
on glasses and make them transparent.
