Sodium starch glycolate is the sodium salt of carboxymethyl ether. Starch glycolates are of rice, potato, wheat or corn origin. Sodium starch glycolate is the sodium salt of a carboxymethyl ether of starch. The molecular weight is typically 500 000-11 000 000.

Used as Disintegrant in Capsules and Tablet Formulations either Direct Compression or Wet Granulation Process
