History                                     The company was established in 1920 under the name of

                                                 S. Ichikawa Co. Ltd. The company expanded its business in
                                                 export and import of paper, paperboard and machinery. 
                                                 In 1944 the Japanese Government in order to control the 
                                                 business under the war situation appointed the company to 
                                                 be the exclusive importer/ exporter of paper and paperboard
                                                 in Western Japan under the company name Nippon Paper
                                                 Trading Co., Ltd (NPT). The company continued business after

                                                 World War II and is now one of the major importers and

                                                 exporters of paper in Japan. In 1965 the company was

                                                 nominated by the Japanese Government as one of the

                                                 most prominent contributors to foreign trade in the last

                                                10 years. Since then the company has been engaged in

                                                 trading in a wide variety of products and services in addition

                                                 to its main item, paper and paperboard business.
