BugHunter Dvideo Nano is a portable device designed to detect spy cameras irregardless of whether they are turned on or off. The device can detect wired and wireless cameras.

Operating principle

Operating principle is based on the effect of the reverse glare. The device emits light and receives the reflected glares from spy cameras. Since the reflected glare from the camera lens is several times brighter than the reflections from other objects, locating the camera is quite simple.

The basic rule to detect spy cameras is that the search should be performed in a place where a spy camera could probably be mounted.

Cameras can be installed in areas that allow easy observation of working spaces, resting places (chairs, sofas, etc.) and doorways. The camera can be installed in a hollow space of a suspended ceiling, in premise's corners, ventilation shaft, furniture elements (wardrobe, mezzanine, etc.), comfort items or audio-video equipment, etc. There may be several cameras. Detection of one or two video cameras does not mean that the room is completely surveillance free. To be sure of your safety, it is necessary to check all the possible spy cameras’ locations.

To determine what glare you see, spy camera lens or a reflection on a smooth surface (e.g., glass or mirror), you can move aside slightly and continue to inspect the same area with the working device. In this case a simple glare disappears, shifts or significantly changes its intensity. However, the bright glare of the camera lens remains in the same place and there may be a slight change in glare’s intensity.

The working distance is 59 feet and spy cameras can be detected only within this range. Consequently, for more certainty it is recommended to inspect the most suspicious places from different angles.
