Description

Red Rubber Catheter is a soft flexible latex catheter with an integral tapered funnel end. This all purpose intermittent urethral catheter has a round, hollow tip with two opposing eyes. Ideal for use as a robinson or nelation catheter. The main objective in using this type of catheter is to allow the bladder to drain properly during catheterization. Red rubber catheters can be used in both homes and in hospital settings for bladder and urinary care.

Red rubber intermittent catheters are used only for a short time, unlike foley catheters that stay in the body for longer periods of time. These catheters are very flexible, making them easier to use. They are more pliable than rigid PVC catheters and contain latex. The latex gives the catheter it's softer feel. Intermittent catheters can be used by both men and women and come in a variety of sizes. The width of the catheter is determined by the french size. French sizes include: 10, 12, 14, 16, 18. It is recommended that the catheter be used only once and discarded. However, if necessary, these red rubber catheters can be washed in warm soapy water and allowed to dry completely before using again. Do not use if the catheter becomes brittle and inflexible. Use of chemicals may damage the catheter and destroy it prematurely.
