The 135cm size is good for neckerchiefs and scarves. The 180cm size is perfect for scarves, as well as headbands, DIY bags, and many other accessories.

How are Tenuguis Different from Towels?

1. Unlike Traditional towels, the ends of a tenugui are not sewn together, which means it dries quicker, it is more hygenic, and it will not accumulate dirt and dust as quickly.

 

2. Long-term use of a tenugui will actually add additional charm to the towel. Everyday use will make your tenugui softer, improving their feeling and sense of comfort. Enjoy your very own original tenugui!

 

3. Each tenugui is made from a material called "wasarashi", which is woven in Japan. This material displays fewer imperfections and deformations, and any impurities actually remove themselves over time. Thanks to this amazing material, each tenugui has a remarkably smooth, fine texture, and the dye work is more vibrant and beautiful.

Our Chusen Technique

"Chusen" is a technique for dying specific patterns onto cloth. Perhaps the most noticeable characteristic of this process is how deep and vibrant the dye colors are, thanks to the act of dying both sides of the cloth. Each item is done by hand, so no two items will ever be the same. This handcrafted approach also allows each product to express delicate changes in hue and overall beautiful textures.
