Tablet Coating System

 

 

Tablet Coating System delivers completely controlled solution via spray guns to tablet surface. Machine designed to enable Manual or PLC based control system.The Inlet and Exhaust Air Handling Systems are integral part of Coatings Systems. As Tablet Coating becomes increasingly sophisticated, controlling air temperature, humidity and cleanliness within the Coating Machine is critical. As a result we have produced modular inlet and exhaust systems ranging from simple unit to a more advanced.

Salient Features

  • Product contact parts are made from Stainless Steel corresponding to 316.

Pan


Perforated cylindrical pan with conical frustums at both ends. The front frustum is provided with a manhole sized mouth for loading/unloading of pan. The rear frustum is provided with a welded pad for mounting the drive shaft. The two conical frustums are also provided with 3 nos. each bolted, removable baffles.

 

Drive


The pan is provided with a mechanically variable speed drive arrangement through a motor, gear box and spur drive assembly. The variable speed is achieved through a cone pulley arrangement The pan is mounted on sturdy Plummer blocks at the back, in cantilever. Motors and electrical will be TEFC non ex proof construction (Ex proof can be offered as an option). suitable for 3 phase, 410 volts, 50 Hz. (Optionally other specification can be supplied)

 

Hot Air System


Hot Air System consists:

  • Inlet filter assembly, 2 stage with 5 & 15 microns, (3 Stage filtration including HEPA can be offered as an option)
  • Centrifugal Blower, suitable designed with 2800 RPM motor and dynamically balanced fan. Details of capacity as per table.
  • Heating assembly either through electrical heaters or steam coil. Heaters are controlled through sensors fixed in the duct line (inlet or outlet) or inside the tablet bed.
  • 2 Dampers, one auto controlled for open & close positions, second manually controlled for varying the quantity of air.
  • Air plenum covering a part of the top right hand side of the pan, through which air is supplied to the pan.

Exhaust Air System

 

Exhaust Air System consist:

  • Outlet coarse filter. (2 stage with 5 & 15 microns, or 3 Stage filtration including Hepa can be offered as an option, scrubber option is also possible)
  • Centrifugal Blower, suitable designed with 2800 RPM motor and dynamically balanced fan. Details of capacity as per table.
  • 2 Dampers, one auto controlled for open & close positions, second manually controlled for varying the quantity of air.
  • Air plenum covering the bottom left hand side of the pan, through which air is sucked out of the pan.


Spray System


Spray System consists of

  • Jacketed and pneumatically agitated solution holding vessel.
  • Peristaltic pump for solution transfer.
  • Spray gun for film coating.
  • Dosing system for sugar dosing.
  • Pneumatic system for spray control of solution
  • Interconnecting tubing for solution and air between the gun the solution tank and the pneumatic system
  • A retractable gun arm for mounting the guns inside the pan.

 

Mounting

  • The pan is mounted on a sturdy MS channel frame work. The mounting is buitt into two parts.
  • The lower part house the drive assembly.
  • The top is completely sealed and enclosed for negative air pressure.
  • The top is completed constructed in SS.
  • The top cabinet is provided with two side doors for access to the pan and plenums for cleaning.
  • The bottom of the pan is provided with a sink and drain for cleaning of the pan.
  • The front is provided with an air tight window for viewing the process.
  • Blowers are mounted inside the cabinet at the bottom or can be remotely mounted outside the room. Ducting between blowers and main unit to be in the client's scope.
  • Electrical Panel and peristaltic pump mounted separately by the side of the machine

 

Control System

 

The control system consists of

 

  • Electrical logic circuit for on/off of the motors, pneumatic controls, heater controls and logic control of the sequence
  • Pneumatic controls for the on/off spraying sequence.
  • PLC control, integrating the electrical and pneumatic circuit with timer and logic based sequence.
  • Interlocks for,
       1) The three motor sequence
       2) Air pressure interlock with spray system
       3) Heater interlock with blower

Air Velocity Measurement: Measurement of Air velocity via air velocity measurement sensor will be installed near the material processing chamber to achieve maximum process yield and to achieve maximum process accuracy, Air velocity sensor is capable of handling high temperature thermal drift.

 

Inlet Air Humidity Measurement: Measurement of Inlet Air Humidity via humidity measurement sensor will be installed near the material processing chamber to achieve maximum process yield and to achieve maximum process accuracy, Humidity sensor is capable of handling high temperature thermal drift.

 

Connectivity of SCADA System: Connectivity to SCADA System for third party interface or to connect the equipment on Central Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System via RS 232 DF1 or Modbus or Ethernet connectivity. End user has to decide the connectivity option while ordering the Equipment.
